PRODUCTION

Every set presents its own unique challenges, but also opportunities for creative problem solving. Our team has worked smoothly in concert with each other for years. We create a collaborative set environment open to ideas and improvisation from crew members and clients, but tempered in production discipline that keeps the ball moving to capture content and get those shots on time and often under budget.

.01 LIGHTS

Great production is comprehensive pre-production, and Moving Pictures believes in the 5 P’s:
Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

We team up with our clients & partners from tweaking the original concept to writing a visionary treatment and originating an inspiring storyboard. We dive into all available research, perform location scouting where possible, organize table reads for the cast & relevant crew to get everyone on the same page for the best stage.

.02 CAMERA

Life is on the set can be daunting, but is often fun & exciting! Our team members have worked in small guerilla crews to extravagant big production film/TV sets.  Our camera equipment communicates wirelessly with our audio equipment to ensure smooth, time coded sound sync’d to video.  Our crew has worked in varied environments, and has the rain gear for our equipment to shoot in most weather conditions. And our DJI Phantom Drones are the real game changer: providing smooth high definition video from above to give your project that extra pop that wows audiences.

.03 ACTION

The magic happens as the camera is rolling, when things are flowing you can feel almost an electricity in the air. On-air talent & cast are prepared and made to feel comfortable so they can bring their best energy to the lens. Like the Navy SEALs, our crew members are crossed-trained in each others’ production roles/jobs for maximum efficiency, flexibility and improvisation in the field: often times the director has to also be the cameraman, the producer is also setting up lights or holding bounce cards (natural light reflectors) while conducting the interview, anything to get it done! All this ensures experience amongst team members, ability to meet the unknown and unplanned, and a smoother production overall.
